Former Super League star reveals bizarre new off-field career

He is perhaps most well-known for plying his trade in Super League for a number of years and helping Salford Red Devils to a Grand Final in 2019 and a Challenge Cup Final in 2020, but Kris Welham has taken on a wholly different career off the field.
Welham, who played in the Million Pound Game for Featherstone Rovers against winners Toulouse Olympique back in October, is also working in pest control with his father-in-law and former Sheffield Eagles coach Gary Wilkinson.
“It’s different,” Welham told the Sheffield Star.
“I enjoy it, every job is different, meeting new people with different stories. Rugby doesn’t last forever, you have got to make that transition at some point and get a real job.
“It was a bit of a shock working all day then going to training, getting home late then you are back at work the next morning. As a full-time player you don’t understand what part-time players go through.”
Welham has played over 300 career games since debuting for Hull KR back in 2006, most of them for the Robins, with 95 appearances for the Red Devils too.
