Former Super League utility man Stephen Wild has taken to Instagram to detail just how difficult suffering injuries throughout his career had been – both on the body and on the mind.
Wild – who could play on the wing, at centre and at both second-row and loose forward – had a 14-year career in the top-flight and experienced some horrendous injuries along the way.
Now, the 40-year-old is using his own experiences to help those who may be suffering from the same mental and physical issues that he went through whilst playing.
Wild opened up about dislocating his wrist and how difficult it was to watch his teammates train and play as he sat on the sidelines, training away from the main team.
In that 14-year period, Wild made over 300 Super League appearances for Wigan, Huddersfield and Salford, before turning out for the North Wales Crusaders from 2014.
