Former Super League star hints at potential return to the sport

A former Super League player has hinted at a return to the sport.

Centre or winger Thomas Minns started his career at Leeds Rhinos and had loan spells at London Broncos and Featherstone Rovers before joining Hull KR in 2016.

He had a spell at Featherstone Rovers before his career seemingly ended at Wakefield Trinity last year.

The centre said in August last year: “It’s been a tough year this year with injuries but I’m glad I got the opportunity to play at the top level again.

“So for that I’ll be forever grateful.

“Thank you to all the clubs and teammates I’ve met in a long career. It has been a blast.”

But Minns has today taken to Twitter to say: “Best get the cobwebs off the old rugby boots.”

He tagged high profile agent Show Me The Money UK led by Craig Harrison and included the hashtag comebackpart5.

Minns’ former club Wakefield are currently headed towards an eighth defeat in a row to start the season as they trail in a derby against Castleford Tigers tonight and thus Minns’ return would be a welcome boost.

A number of Super League clubs are in the market for players.

Castleford themselves want a replacement for fellow centre Jake Mamo after he retired suddenly.

Hull FC are looking for players too to turn their losing run around.
