Former Super League star commits to Toulouse’s top flight adventure

Following the retirement of powerful prop Remi Casty, Toulouse have secured the services of the remaining two thirds of their superb front row.

After announcing that former Super League Champion Harrison Hansen will be staying with the French club as they make the leap to the top flight next year, Toulouse have now announced that Lloyd White will be staying with the club in 2022.

A Welsh international, White made his Super League debut with another club outside of England in the shape of Crusaders before making the leap to Widnes in 2012 helping the Vikings establish themselves as a top flight club for six seasons before their relegation in 2018.

He even helped the club to the play-offs in 2014 scoring 38 tries in 141 appearances before joining Toulouse in 2020. He’s since excelled with the French club helping form a brilliant front row alongside the aforementioned Casty and Hansen with his skill and energy complimenting their raw brutality nicely.

With Super League experience, he’ll only improve Toulouse’s chances of Super League survival in 2022.

Speaking to the club website, White was excited about the future: “I’m really happy to continue the adventure at the TO for another year. This season has been fantastic for all of us and I can’t wait to be confronted with what the Super League will offer us.”

Meanwhile club president Bernard Sarrazain said: “Lloyd is an excellent player, coupled with a very pleasant boy. We couldn’t imagine next season without him.”
