Former Leeds Rhinos, Hull KR and Wakefield Trinity star Thomas Minns has recently spoken about wanting to join a rugby union side now that he is at the end of his career.
This is a bit of a surprise but what was an even bigger surprise is the club he played for this weekend.
Minns burst onto the scene with a try on debut against Castleford Tigers for Leeds Rhinos in 2013.
Minns was last contracted to and last played for Wakefield during the 2022 Super League season but hasn’t been seen since on a rugby league field.
The 28-year-old outside back came through at Leeds Rhinos with loan spells dominating his time with the Headingley club.
That saw him learn his trade with London Broncos and Featherstone Rovers before a move to Hull Kingston Rovers where he arguably played some of his best rugby.

In a spell from 2016 to 2018 Minns represented the Robins 49 times whilst scoring an impressive 34 tries.
That saw him relegated with the club through the Million Pound Game before being a key part of the squad that saw immediate promotion and a return to the top table of rugby league in England.
Most recently at Wakefield Trinity he played for the Belle Vue side four times in the 2022 season, registering just one try, but has been out of the game since despite reported interest for a return.
He’s since tweeted looking at a return to the rugby pitch, however it may be in the other code of union.
Hey guys I’m looking for a rugby Union team for this season. Preferably Pontefract if anyone can point me in the right direction I’d appreciate it thank you please RT

Minns has excellent qualities and it is a shame it never worked out long term for him in Super League.
It would be intriguing to see if he ever has a crack at rugby league again in the the future.
He did have one last crack at rugby league this week running out for East Leeds this weekend.
East Leeds has produced some excellent players including former Leeds Rhinos teammates and good friends Danny McGuire and Richie Mathers.
However, in a strange twist, Minns has played for the club at the end of his career.
We recently saw former NRL star Fuifui Moimoi player at this level for Leigh Miners.
