Former Super League favourite set to return from NRL

Andre Savelio has been given permission to speak to Super League clubs by Brisbane Broncos head coach Anthony Seibold, according to League Weekly.

The 23-year-old has failed to play a single game in the NRL after suffering a serious knee injury at the start of last year, subsequently falling down the pecking order.

Savelio, who has previously been compared to Sonny Bill Williams, departed for Australia’s premier competition at the end of 2017 after spells with St Helens and Warrington.

The New Zealand-born forward also had a loan spells with Castleford in 2016 and is believed to be attracting interest from a number of clubs.

Although those clubs have not yet been revealed, it is reported that four different Super League teams are interested in his services.

Savelio’s current deal with Brisbane expires at the end of the season, but he will be allowed to leave for free if he can find a deal with another club before then.
