Former Super League Champion makes immediate loan move

Recently, Super League duo Umyla Hanley and Jacob Jones have both made loan moves away from Leigh Leopards.

Jones joined the Widnes Vikings on a two-week loan meanwhile former Wigan Warriors winger and fullback Umyla Hanley joined Rochdale Hornets.

Leigh released the following statement:

“Jacob Jones has today joined Widnes Vikings on a two week initial loan, alongside Umyla Hanley who has joined Rochdale Hornets.

“Good luck, lads.”

Meanwhile Rochdale said:

“We are delighted to announce Umyla Hanley has joined the club on a short-term loan from Leigh Leopards.

“Welcome to Hornets, Umyla.”

Around the same time Adrian Lam confirmed that Aaron Smith was back training and suggested that the he could go somewhere on loan:

“Aaron Smith is back in training all ready to go, it’s whether or not we include him in that squad or we try get him some game time elsewhere..

“So those players are on the fringe at the moment, they probably need a little bit of game time so we’ll work closely with them on that.”

It has now been confirmed that he will join Hanley at Rochdale and who has extended his loan move with the Hornets.

Smith played in the 2019 Grand Final for St Helens so will provide Rochdale with plenty of quality.
