Former Salford player out of ICU

Former Salford Red Devils and Swinton Lions player Tex Evans is no longer in Intensive Care after ten days there, the Super League side have confirmed.

Evans was admitted on 7th April. Afterwards, it had emerged that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.

He will now continue his recovery at home.

The 56-year-old started his career at Swinton, he made his debut in 1985. He then joined Salford in 1988 following Swinton’s relegation. Evans was the top points scorer for Swinton that year, despite their relegation.

He scored 57 tries across his time at Salford. He also won one Second Division Title in 1991, as well as a Second Division Premiership title in the same year. Evans then retired in 1995.
