Former Leigh Leopards and Huddersfield Giants man to go round again in 2023 at the age of 36

Martyn Ridyard started his career back in 2009 with the Leigh Centurions, now Leigh Leopards.
He started in Leigh academy after coming through with the Leigh miners. He returned to the Miners prior to making the move to the Warrington academy before once again returning to the Miners.
His professional career finally started in 2009 with the Leigh Centurions.
He helped the club to two Northern Rail Cup Finals as well as the Championship Grand Final in 2014 at Headingley.
Eventually, he would help the Centurions return to Super League in time for the 2017 season but after that season he joined Featherstone after a short spell with Huddersfield Giants on loan.
He would return to Leigh in 2019 and in his second spell reached his 250th appearance for the club before joining Swinton Lions prior to making the move to Oldham.
Despite being 36, and will turn 37 during next season, Ridyard has signed a new one-year deal to stay at Oldham in 2023.
In a statement released by the club tonight, they said: “We are delighted to announce that Ridyard, one of the most experienced players in League One, will again be with us in 2023, having signed a new deal to the absolute joy of head coach Stu Littler.”
Ridyard responded saying he still feels like and acts like he’s 21 clearly excited for his 15th season.
