Former Hull star making waves for new club

Former Hull star Albert Kelly scored his first try back in the NRL for Brisbane in their narrow loss to Sydney.

Kelly made almost 70 appearances for the Black and Whites after a short spell at bitter rivals Hull KR before deciding to move on at the end of 2020.

He joined Brisbane on a trial basis in a bid to impress head coach Kevin Walters and has done just that, with rumours of an extended contract being signed for 2022.

And, Broncos fans were treated to a spectacle earlier on today as he registered his first try since making the move back Down Under.

It was his initial kick that found its way to Broncos prop Thomas Flegler. The flame-haired enforcer sauntered through a gap in the Roosters line, offloading to Kelly who powered his way over.

The happiness on his face was evident as months of strife of being out of the side was finally put to bed.

Brisbane did end up losing 21-20, but it was a courageous effort from the Broncos who are second bottom on the NRL ladder.
