Former Hull FC star Steve Michaels is returning to the club for a special event to celebrate Scott Taylor’s testimonial.
Now retired, Taylor is set for one last hoorah against one of his former clubs in the shape of Wigan Warriors on Sunday.
But as part of the celebrations, Taylor‘s former teammate Steve Michaels is returning to the club for the closing dinner as Hull FC remember one of the pillars of their best side of a generation in the shape of the back-to-back Challenge Cup winners in 2016 and 2017 against Warrington Wolves and their opponents this weekend Wigan Warriors.
Having Michaels back in Hull is a lovely gesture and a lovely moment for Taylor. Michaels played alongside Taylor in the 2016 Wembley win but was left out of the 2017 decider.
In 77 games over three years for the Arlie Birds, he scored 31 tries having previously played for Brisbane Broncos and Gold Coast Titans.
His return will be a welcome treat for Taylor and Hull FC fans.

The Black & Whites return to the MKM Stadium for the first time in 2024 as they take on Wigan Warriors in Scott Taylor’s Testimonial match on Sunday 4th February.
Supporters will come together to celebrate the career of the back-to-back Challenge Cup winner, who retired from Rugby League at the end of the 2023 season following a stellar eight-year spell with his boyhood club Hull FC.
It will be the Airlie Birds’ final action ahead of the start of the 2024 Betfred Super League season, and an opportunity to see the likes of new recruits Franklin Pele, Herman Ese’ese, Jayden Okunbor and Nu Brown in action on home soil for the first time.
Only the East Stand and West Stand will be open for this fixture – outside of our corporate areas in W5, W6 and W7, all seating will be unreserved, meaning normal membership seating will not be in operation.
