Former Hull FC man Jayden Okunbor signs deal for 2025

Hull FC

Former Hull FC player Jayden Okunbor has confirmed his future with the 27-year-old signing a one-year extension with his current club Bradford Bulls.

Okunbor had been loaned to Bradford whilst at Hull FC before joining the Bulls permanently for the remainder of the 2024 season after his release from the Black and Whites.

It was confirmed recently that his Visa issues had been resolved meaning Eamon O’Carroll was able to recall him and the Odsal club have now confirmed that they’ve secured his services for 2025.

Okunbor was one of four signings to arrive from down under for Hull FC at the start of the season with three of those having already departed the club. Nu Brown was granted a release on compassionate grounds whilst forward Franklin Pele has linked up with Okunbor at Bradford.

Herman Ese’ese is the sole NRL signing that remains at Hull FC with their recruitment subject to plenty of questions from fans and pundits alike.

Okunbor would play just eight games at Hull FC but he’s faired far better at Bradford Bulls and the club have been able to secure him for 2025.

A statement from the club read: “Bradford Bulls are delighted to announce towering outside back Jayden Okunbor has signed a one-year contract extension into the 2025 season!

“The 6ft 5in former Canterbury Bulldog initially arrived at Bartercard Odsal on loan from Hull FC, making an instant impact – scoring three tries in five appearances.

“Quickly becoming a fans’ favourite, Okunbor penned a permanent deal until the end of the season before today’s extension which further bolsters Eamon O’Carroll’s ranks next season.”

Speaking on the deal, head coach Eamon O’Carroll said: “I am really happy to have signed Jayden for another 12 months, he has really immersed himself into the group and it is clear to see he’s got a smile back on his face and that has transferred onto the field.

“The exciting thing for me is, he still has so much more to offer and I feel like the longer he is on that journey with us, the better he will get.

“It’s clear he’s become a fans’ favourite through his performances, he’s well liked and well respected within the team too so I am excited about seeing him in a Bulls jersey across the course of the next year.”
