Former Halifax playmaker runs into Featherstone Rovers pitch invader

Scott Murrell has always been known for his banter on and off the field.

And, a few weeks ago, the former Halifax playmaker engaged in light-hearted humour with the Featherstone Rovers Twitter admin about the state of Featherstone’s floodlights in the qualifying semi-final.

That Championship play-off tie ended in victory for Rovers against the Halifax Panthers – Murrell’s old side – which didn’t go unnoticed by the Rovers social media account, either.

However, a few years ago at the Summer Bash, Murrell was taking the field for Fax against Rovers and ended up scoring in the last minute to win the game for Fax.

Celebrating in front of the Featherstone fans was perhaps always going to be a bad idea, but one Rovers fan in particular took exception.

He charged the field, pushing Murrell before being accosted back into the stand.

However, Murrell and the Featherstone fan crossed each other’s paths at the weekend, with the current Keighley Cougars star making light of the situation.

Murrell wrote: “Good to meet the @FevRoversRLFC fan who tried testing me at Blackpool” with a laughing face emoji.
