Former Featherstone Rovers’ reserves player joins Love Island in same vein as Jacques O’Neill

It was well-documented at the time that Jacques O’Neill, a talented youngster at Castleford Tigers, had signed up to join ITV reality dating show, Love Island.

O’Neill effectively hung up the boots mid-season to take to the dating show and try find love and he’s started somewhat of a trend with another former rugby league player taking to ‘the Villa’.

The show started last night and saw Kai Fagan, formerly of Featherstone Rovers’ reserve team, make his entrance to the Villa just as O’Neill did in the summer of 2022.

His former club tweeted the news this afternoon after Fagan turned eyes with his arrival on the show last night.

The 24-year-old has since transitioned to rugby union and plays semi-professionally for Burnage RFC having previously played 7’s for Jamaica.

Responses to Rovers’ tweet regarding his entrance to the Villa were thin on the ground, at the time of writing only one fan had responded and offered the opinion that many rugby league fans might have dished up.

In far more exciting evening entertainment, Featherstone will make their first appearance of 2023 on Friday night as they host Hull KR for Craig Hall’s testimonial, with the Championship side having already forewarned fans that they’re expecting a large attendance.
