Former Castleford Tigers winger Tuoyo Egodo makes surprise switch

Former Castleford Tigers winger Tuoyo Egodo has switched codes to join rugby union side Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club.

24-year-old Egodo made 16 appearances for the Castleford Tigers between 2017 and 2019 before moving back permanently to the London Broncos – where he began his career.

The decision by the Broncos to go part-time, however, left Egodo searching for a new club and now he has chosen the 15-a-side code for a fresh start.

Adam Balding, Birmingham Moseley Rugby, Director of Rugby said: “We are delighted that Tuoyo has decided to choose Birmingham Moseley to switch codes. He has explosive pace and power and is a strong physical ball carrier.

“I look forward to him bringing the physicality of rugby league to the Common.”

Egodo came through the ranks at London, though he failed to make an appearance before making the loan move to Hemel Stags in 2016.

There he made six appearances before impressing enough to earn a Super League deal with Castleford for 2017.

Egodo spent time on loan at Oldham, York City Knights, Newcastle Thunder and the Bradford Bulls before departing the Jungle for good ahead of the 2020 season.

The centre and winger then turned out nine times for the Broncos in 2020, scoring nine tries.
