Over a month ago, Castleford Tigers starlet Jacques O’Neill took a huge risk.
After missing months through injury, the 23-year-old hooker decided to chance his arm in the Love Island Villa hoping to find a special someone.
He was released by the Tigers and entered the Villa forming an instant connection with Paige. For a while they were one of the show’s favourite couples even being voted to go into the special hide away.
However, Jacque’s status on the show is now in serious trouble. Over the last week he and Paige have been cut adrift in two separate villas populated by other potential suitors designed to “test” them.
Jacques treated it as such getting to know quite a few ladies in the villa before still choosing to couple up with Paige who also made the same decision.
However, it was then revealed to Paige that Jacques had kissed one of the other contestants whilst the two were apart.
This prompted Jacques to say that he would leave the Villa because without Paige – who was thinking things over at this stage – he felt like there was nothing left for him there.
Ultimately he remains in the villa coupled up with Paige and it seems she’s willing to let the past die but will the viewers?
There’s a vote tonight for your favourite couple with the least popular couple in danger of being asked to leave the villa. After Jacques and Paige’s recent problems, the duo are surely in peril and could be voted as one of the least favourite couples despite being one of the favoured ones earlier in the show.
Should Jacques leave the villa, he could return to rugby league with Castleford having first refusal on the player.
Ironically, the Tigers could do with a man of his versatility ahead of their clash with Leeds tomorrow due to the number of key players missing.
