Former Castleford talent posts update from Australia

When Bailey Hodgson left Castleford at the end of 2020, big things were expected of him after signing for Newcastle Knights in the NRL.

Hodgson, who can play at fullback and centre, made his Super League debut for the Tigers in November of last year, just over a week after turning 18 years old.

A representative of England’s youth national team, Hodgson made the incredibly brave decision to jet halfway around the world to fulfil his rugby league dream.

Having tinkered with the Knights’ reserve side, the teenager is still waiting for his NRL debut.

But, that is surely just around the corner with Hodgson having earned massive raps in both hemispheres for his mature attitude that belies his youthful age – as well, of course, having the brilliant skillset that sets him apart from others his age.

And, he seems to be enjoying life in sunny Australia, surfing with fellow Englander and Newcastle man Dom Young – who moved from Huddersfield at the same time last year.
