Former Castleford and St Helens forward finds new club

Barrow Raiders have signed former Castleford, Leigh and Salford forward Jake Emmitt for the remainder of the season.

32-year-old Emmitt has over 250 career appearances to his name having come through the St Helens academy, making his debut in 2008 before having spells at Castleford, Salford, Leigh, Swinton, Keighley and finally Toronto.

Capped six times by Wales, Emmitt was sold on the Barrow vision by head coach Paul Crarey.

“After Paul rang me telling me about the place, the team and the goals the club are trying to achieve for the rest of the season and beyond, it got me excited about playing again,” Emmitt said.

“So, I’m hoping I can come in and just help with what the team have been doing already on the field this season.

“I’ve got some close friends up there and they all speak really highly of the people and the place, so I’m just looking forward to getting started.”

Barrow currently sit top of League 1 with nine wins from 11 games.
