Bradford Bulls plan tribute for former youngster and former Huddersfield Giants man Ben Benn who passed away suddenly at just 30 years old

It’s been a sad week for rugby league as we lose one of our own at too young of an age.

Former Bradford Bulls scholarship player and Huddersfield Giants and Halifax man Ben Benn has passed away suddenly at the age of just 30 years old.

The young man who battled hard to forge a career in our amazing but difficult sport passed away on Monday.

Today Bradford announced that they’re planning a tribute to the young man and there’s set to be a minute’s silence ahead of Bradford’s last game of the season which comes against John Kear’s Widnes Vikings on Sunday 11th September.

Bradford this morning released a statement sending their thoughts to young Benn’s family.

It said: “Bradford Bulls are extremely saddened to learn of the passing of former Scholarship player Ben Benn.

“The 30-year-old, who also played for Huddersfield Giants and Halifax during a fledgling career, died suddenly on Monday.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with Ben’s family and friends at this time.

“We are going to honour the life and career of Ben with a minute’s silence prior to kick-off at our final game of the season vs Widnes Vikings on Sunday 11th September.”

All of us at Serious About Rugby League echo these sentiments.
