Catalans Dragons’ Joe Chan was sent off for Catalans Dragons in their historic win over Toulouse Olympique.
The young forward – who was said to be on the radar of NRL side Melbourne Storm earlier this week – got the tackle on his Toulouse counterpart all wrong, driving his head into the ground.
Referee Robert Hicks had no choice but to brandish a red card to Chan as Catalans just about held on for an 18-10 victory.
The win sees Steve McNamara’s team keep pace with St Helens and Wigan at the top of Super League, with those two teams meeting in today’s Good Friday derby.
It’s a seventh defeat in eight Super League games for Toulouse, who sit rock bottom of the league after Leeds drew with Huddersfield to move a point above them.

Chan is apparently on the radar of Melbourne Storm.
That’s according to the Daily Telegraph which has revealed that Catalans Dragons prop Chan is highly thought of by veteran head coach Craig Bellamy.
There is already a Storm connection there with the 20-year-old forward’s father, Alex, playing at Melbourne as well as the Northern Eagles, Parramatta Eels and New Zealand.
