Five Super League stars who could make big transfer moves in 2023

As we begin 2023, there are plenty of big names players whose current contracts expire in the next 12 months leaving them open to making big moves in 2023.

So, here are five big name players who could make big moves in 2023 ahead of the 2024 Super League season.

Sam Tomkins – Catalans Dragons
The two time Man of Steel Sam Tomkins is in the final year of his contract at Catalans and recently said he believed he would do a good job as a halfback with his former club Wigan Warriors. A return remains unlikely, but entering the final year of his deal means that Tomkins could return home or elsewhere.

Tui Lolohea – Huddersfield Giants
Lolohea had an exceptional season in 2022 scoring and creating tries as well as earning more goal line drop outs than any other players. The former Leeds and Salford man is in his final year of his current contract at Huddersfield and thus could join another Super League club.

James Bentley – Leeds Rhinos
Former St Helens star James Bentley finished 2022 really strongly in a Leeds shirt as his home town club made the Grand Final. However, he is in the final year of his two year deal and reportedly interested in making the move to the NRL.

Brodie Croft – Salford Red Devils
The current Man of Steel’s current deal at Salford expires at the end of 2023. He will be chased by NRL clubs and Super League clubs alike. The Red Devils are reportedly trying to tie him down longer term.

Daryl Clark – Warrington Wolves
Another former Man of Steel has been at Warrington since 2015 after leaving Castleford Tigers. the hooker though could make another move in 2023 as he enters the final year of his deal.
