Five Super League signings who could land the Man of Steel award in 2023

The Man of Steel is the biggest individual honour in British rugby league.

In the past we have seen Super League’s new faces land the award.

So, which new signings could claim the honour in 2023?

Jake Clifford – Hull FC

Clifford is set to be the beating heart of Hull FC in 2023. He will be the guiding force of their attack and free up their other attacking weapons.

Jake Connor – Huddersfield Giants

Back at Huddersfield, Connor has always had the skills required to be a Man of Steel winner and that honour could come his way in 2023 if he turns Huddersfield into Champions.

Tex Hoy – Hull FC

The man replacing Connor at Hull, he is the ideal Super League fullback like 2022 nominee Jai Field. He could also unlock Hull FC’s potential in 2023.

Josh McGuire – Warrington Wolves

A World Cup winner and an Australian international, few players will deliver that level of pedigree to a new team which is why McGuire could land the Man of Steel with a strong season.

Zak Hardaker – Leigh Leopards

If Leigh make the playoffs like some believe they will, Hardaker will be the key and as a former Man of Steel winner he could land the award in 2023 as well.
