Five Super League players who would excel in the NRL

Today’s news that the NRL salary cap is set to move to $12.1 million in 2023 which is more than three times that of Super League has given them the tools to lure more Super League stars down under.

As does the increase of their minimum wage to £66,000. In the past we have already seen stars tempted to go down under such as Warrington Wolves star George Williams and Wigan Warriors man John Bateman and that could happen even more now.

So, here’s five Super League players who would excel down under.

Jack Welsby
Jack Welsby is set to be the face of Super League, unless NRL clubs get a hold of him with reports down under saying that he is now on the radar of every club down under after impressing in the Rugby League World Cup and will certainly be on the radar of the Dolphins with ex-St Helens boss Kristian Woolf involved at the club. He has all the skills and physical attributes to be a huge success.

Jake Connor
The class of Jake Connor means he would be a huge success down under and has previously been chased by the likes of Canberra Raiders. He has every skill in the book and can score and create tries. He would make a top NRL fullback or a perfect number 14. In the end he rejected them to stay at Hull FC prior to joining Huddersfield Giants.

Mikolaj Oledzki
Power, explosivity, and an engine. Mikolaj Oledzki has everything you’d want from a modern prop and more and has all the attributes required to follow in the footsteps of James Graham and Luke Thompson down under.

Morgan Knowles
A world class 13 already, Knowles has skills but also great physical attributes and rarely misses a tackle. In many ways the way he plays the 13 role is akin to those in the NRL.

Morgan Gannon
Morgan Gannon is already a class second-rower with two years of experience and is not even 20 and won’t turn 20 for another year. He also has skills set to play against Wakefield Trinity on Boxing Day in the halves. The Leeds Rhinos youngster is an outstanding young player with a great attitude and never takes a backwards step and could have the same success as Wigan Warriors star John Bateman down under as well as Sam Burgess.
