Five potential signings for Warrington Wolves boss Daryl Powell

Warrington Wolves have been in a bit of a pickle recently.

New head coach Daryl Powell has yet to master the tricks of the trade at the Halliwell Jones Stadium with a set of poor results leaving Warrington outside the play-off spots in seventh.

And, with May 1st passing, the ability to negotiate with out of contract stars can now occur. So just which five signings could Powell make?

Joe Lovodua – Hull FC

What a signing this would be for Warrington. Joe Lovodua only signed a one-year deal with Hull FC upon his trip to Super League which leaves him free to negotiate with other clubs. The interest will be high considering just how well he has played so far for the Black and Whites in 2022. But, given his versatility, Lovodua could be an incredible asset for a struggling Wolves side.

Jack Brown – Hull FC

With Warrington seemingly struggling in the pack in 2022, a young Jack Brown could more than fill the void. Having been in and out of the Hull FC team due to injuries, Brown has shone when given the opportunity. He would provide some size and speed in the middle.

Dan Norman – St Helens

Signed from London Broncos, Dan Norman has had mixed results in the St Helens side since then. At the age of 24, the powerful forward will be wanting more game time and may have to move elsewhere to achieve that. And, Hodgson could well be waiting with the Wolves desperately needing more firepower up front.

Justin Sangare – Toulouse Olympique

It was well known that last year Toulouse Olympique prop Justin Sangare had Super League clubs circling after helping the French side reach the top flight. He is, however, out of contract at the end of 2022 so it wouldn’t be surprising if rival sides made their interest in the 24-year-old known. Again a strong front-rower that could make a difference to the Warrington pack.

Gil Dudson – Catalans Dragons

He goes under the radar, but Gil Dudson is one of the most formidable forwards in Super League. Impressing at every club he has been at, the Welsh international could drive the standards of the Warrington pack much higher. Plus, he would bring a wealth of experience with him to the Halliwell Jones.

They should get rid of Widdop to free up room, make a firm offer for French to be their full back (as opposed to being stuck on the wing) and, like the article suggests, bring in Dudson as a solid, if not spectacular, Super League prop to replace Hill.
