Ferres commits to Featherstone

Featherstone Rovers forward Brett Ferres has signed a new one-year contract to remain at the club for the 2021 season.

The 34-year-old signed from Leeds Rhinos ahead of the 2020 season, but has only been limited to six appearances because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Ferres said: “We didn’t play too many games before the season got cut-off so there’s definitely some unfinished business here. I had a chat with Steve Gill and Davide Longo and it was an easy choice to stay with Featherstone.

“Obviously I’m delighted, it’s been an indifferent year so I’m looking forward to hopefully getting back out there on the pitch soon.”

Football Manager Steve Gill added: “It’s good to know Brett will be with us for the 2021 season, he has already shown what he brings to the team, both off and on the field in his short time here.

“He had been outstanding for us before the lockdown and I’m confident he will continue his form going into the 2021 season.”
