Featherstone Rovers’ Tom Holmes and Leigh Centurions’ Kieron Dixon find new clubs on short-term deals

Featherstone Rovers and Leigh Centurions have confirmed exit loan deals for Tom Holmes and Kieron Dixon respectively.

Neither have featured much for the Championship promotion hopefuls in the 2022 campaign so far, with Brian McDermott and Adrian Lam making use of their quality-laden squads.

As such, Holmes will make the short-term move to Sheffield Eagles – where he has recently been on-loan, having played against Hull FC in the Challenge Cup – whilst Dixon has moved to the Widnes Vikings.

As the battle heats up for promotion to Super League, both Featherstone and Leigh continue with their recruitment with Rovers bringing in the likes of former Toulouse Olympique stars Johnathon Ford and Mark Kheirallah.

The Centurions are also expected to add some massive firepower before the two clash in their next head to head.

The likes of Joey Leilua and Caleb Aekins have already made the move from the NRL to the second tier of British rugby league with no quota in the Championship.

That does, however, mean that upon promotion to Super League, the victorious side will have to cut some members from their squad in order to be allowed to compete in the top flight.
