Featherstone Rovers stunned as unbeaten start to the season ended

Chris Hankinson left Featherstone Rovers in January to sign for Salford Red Devils.

Featherstone Rovers have been stunned at home to lose their first game of the league season.

Billed by the Rovers as a chance to avenge their defeat in 2021 in the Million Pound Game the Rovers were caught cold.

They trailed 6-0 early on after a Guy Armitage try.

They responded through a great kick and chase by Craig Hall which made it 6-4. However another try for Toulouse put them 12-4 in front. Luke Briscoe kept the Rovers in it with a try which made it 12-8.

Dominique Peyroux however took Toulouse 18-8 at the start of the second half.

Two quick fire tries from the Rovers however levelled matters at 18-all and it seemed the league leaders were headed towards a famous win.

But the Rovers unravelled as Toulouse scored three tries in the last quarter.

Paul Macron started matters before Peyroux and Armitage completed braces and a famous win.
