Rugby league is an incredibly tough sport, but sometimes injuries can occur that make you wince with the severity.
One of those injuries that emerged from the weekend was Featherstone Rovers’ John Davies who uploaded a photo onto social media giant Twitter to show just what had gone on during the West Yorkshire club’s win over Widnes Vikings.
The Vikings, under new head coach John Kear, have been resurgent in recent weeks after letting go of Simon Finnegan and they pushed Rovers all the way yesterday afternoon.
Featherstone finally managed to get over the line against the Vikings with a 20-16 win ensuring Rovers took the two points back to the Millennium Stadium, but they may have to do without John Davies for a number of weeks if the photo uploaded of him is anything to go by.
Davies tweeted: “Can’t beat Sunday night in Pindefields. RL is the winner.”
If you are squeamish, look away now!

Rovers have still got a way to go to close the gap to the Leigh Centurions at the top of the Championship table with Adrian Lam’s men five points clear of the Centurions whilst Rovers currently sit five points clear of Halifax Panthers in third.
It will, of course, all go down to the final game of the season – the so-called ‘Million Pound Game’ – with Leigh hoping to nail down home advantage to make the chance of Super League even more likely in the face of Brian McDermott’s men.
McDermott himself has been under fire in recent weeks and months after falling to three losses in a row against the Centurions – twice in the league and once in the 1895 Cup final – but Featherstone fans will be hoping that he can turn things around before the end of the season comes around.
