Featherstone Rovers have signed former Warrington Wolves and London Broncos halfback Morgan Smith.
Smith, whose grandfather Peter Smith was a hero at Post Office Road, has put pen to paper on a deal to join Rovers for the 2022 season – and he was happy to say the least.
“I didn’t really expect it, I’ve been out for the year,” Smith said.
“I was at York and I got injured in pre-season, it was a pretty bad injury with my ACL and I was just going to go round again there so I was a bit surprised really.
“It’s a top Championship club, my hometown club as well, so I always thought in the back of my mind I’d always want to play for Fev – I’m happy to be here.
“It’s a massive club and it’s something I want to do and test myself, play in these big teams and the big games.
“It’s a club that’s obviously going places, to just fall short in the million pound game was a shame but I’m sure ww will be back there next year.”
