Featherstone Rovers have pulled off a major coup in signing a player tipped to be a star of the future for Queensland in State of Origin and for Australia.

They have signed 19-year-old forward Arama Hau till the end of the current season from the Gold Coast Titans.

The young forward is a major signing and will only help the club’s Super league promotion ambitions.

Two years ago he represented Queensland City at the age of 17 and has been selected in the past to play for the prestigious Australian Schoolboys.

Hau plays his best rugby as an edge forward and has a devastating running game.

He has also been praised for his engine as he works tirelessly to get his side down field and deny his opponents metres however he has what has previously been described as “a dynamo” skillset.

He scored a lovely try against New South Wales in youth level State of Origin last year and is expected to be a real start of the future.

He has also claimed the coveted Langer Trophy in the past.

To put this signing into English sporting terms, it would have been like a Championship side signing Manchester City star Phil Foden during his development years to take them to the Premier League.

The Rovers are already overwhelming favourites for promotion and a win tomorrow, after Toulouse Olympique were stunned by Swinton Lions today, will see them move six points clear at the top.
