Featherstone Rovers have confirmed some more exciting news at the start of 2023.

They have revealed the signing of Wakefield Trinity winger Kyle Evans.

The winger joined Wakefield Trinity last year and scored on debut and more than caught the eye for the reserves throughout the season.

With strength, speed and athleticism he has every attribute a modern winger could wish to have.

He caught the eye even more at the Rugby League World Cup.

He produced some brilliant tackles against some of the world’s best attacking players when Wales met Tonga at St Helens’ Totally Wicked Stadium.

He also scored a superb try that day picking up on an error and weaving throughout the scattered Tongan defenders to score one of the better tries of the tournament.

This led to discussion over why he hadn’t nailed down a club yet for 2023.

Widnes Vikings boss and Wales boss John Kear questioned why Wakefield hadn’t kept him on for the new season and Wakefield’s loss is now Featherstone’s gain ahead of the new season.

His squad number has been revealed as being the number 28 shirt with Luke Briscoe with the number two shirt and Gareth Gale in the number five shirt leaving a great battle for the wing spots next year.
