Featherstone Rovers fan tragically dies in Toulouse

A Featherstone Rovers supporter has died after being hit by a car near the Stade Ernest-Wallon a few hours after the match against Toulouse Olympique.

Featherstone went down 34-12 against the French side in what was dubbed the ‘Million Pound Game’ as the winner won promotion to Super League.

For one supporter, however, tragedy struck.

Treize Mondial has reported that a 51-year-old man wanted to cross the ring road in an unlit area and lost his life after being hit by a car, with the driver in shock.

An investigation has since been launched, but Treize Mondial has suggested that that the supporter wanted to cut through the ring road to save time.

Serious About Rugby League sends its sincere condolences to the family and friends of those involved. No supporter should go to a game and not return.

Toulouse become the second French side to earn a spot in Super League following the Catalans Dragons in the early 2000s.
