It was the first ever televised professional game from Cornwall and kept the theme of the Challenge Cup making history, the first round tie being the first time Edinburgh received television coverage.

There were 12 community sides remaining in the pot and two faced off as Leigh Miners Rangers of the NCL Premier hosted the Rochdale Mayfield, who had knocked out Cornwall.

The draw took place at Featherstone Rovers’ stadium and Sean Long’s men were the first team out of the hat and drawing fellow Championship side Halifax Panthers.

Amateur side York Acorn have the difficult task of heading to Odsal to face Bradford Bulls, who will be looking to lift the trophy for the first time since 2003.
