Featherstone Rovers have announced that Jake Roberts has joined the club on a trial period.

Not to be confused with former WWE wrestler Jake The Snake Roberts, the young man joins the Rovers from local club Featherstone Lions where he is one of the club’s most exciting players.

Now he has the chance to secure his place at his home town club and live out his dream if he can impress Sean Long and Leon Pryce and co in this trial period.

On announcing this signing, the club said:

“Featherstone Rovers have handed local Lions young gun Jake Roberts a trial period through the 2023 pre-season.”

Meanwhile, Roberts himself said:

“Playing for the Rovers has been a dream for me since I started playing at the Lions at eight years old.

“It is the best feeling in the world playing for your home town and I’ll give it everything I have.”

The Rovers have already signed the likes of Leigh Leopards fullback Caleb Aekins, ex-Wigan Warriors centre Chris Hankinson and Catalans Dragons man Mathieu Cozza.

Meanwhile, Warrington Wolves halfback Riley Dean has also joined the club on a season long loan at Post Office Road as the club look to finally secure promotion.
