Featherstone provide important update for supporters

Crowd trouble Featherstone

Featherstone Rovers are a side determined to gain promotion in 2021 after many a near miss in the past.

With Toulouse just ahead of them in the Championship table, Rovers will be keen to put the pressure on the leaders between now and the end of the season.

And, the club has responded with a key update for fans from CEO Martin Vickers:

“We are fast approaching the business end of the season and there are plenty of exciting developments on and off the field to look forward too. I’ve said previously there is still room for improvement on many fronts within the Club, and I’m been extremely well supported by Mark and the Board in making the required changes, some examples of which are shown below

“I know we have been more responsive in terms of our merchandise offerings and opening hours, with our new Heritage range being off the scale in terms of demand from our fans.

“We have worked hard to re-engage with vital groups such as Squad Builder and our business community with the recent Squad Builder evening being very well attended and many new businesses engaging with the Club

“We have also significantly upped our game on our digital marketing front with over 4M engagements in the last month alone, that’s a great outcome for our Club and with televised coverage of our Civic reception on Monday evening by the BBC, it just shows what we need to do to keep building the profile of our Club.

“We will continue to drive this improvement and I’m pleased to announce that we have exciting plans moving forward, with just examples being shown below:

  • A new kit supplier for the 2022 season which we will announce within the next fortnight
  • A brand-new makeover of our website in September
  • A different approach to our Player Awards night which will be on the night of the Sheffield game
  • A planned international game in October 2021

On the field, James Webster has been doing a great job in delivering a fantastic Centenary season and I am also pleased to see our Football Manager Ian Hardman making huge strides in retaining that talent for next season and bringing in new players for 2022. We will have some exciting announcements on this front to make in forthcoming months and I must say we are very fortunate here at Featherstone to have approximately 200 supporters backing the Squad builder scheme, this really does make a difference when Ian in getting deals over the line.”
