Featherstone make dig at Castleford following loan deal

It’s safe to say, there will never be any love lost between Featherstone and Castleford.

Bitter rivals, both sets of supporters are not on great talking terms to say the least, but the Tigers have raided Rovers for two emergency loan players in the shape of Jake Sweeting and Loui McConnell.

Sweeting – a halfback – and McConnell – a loose-forward – will join Castleford for one-week loans, with the Tigers struggling with COVID-19 and injuries.

However, the Featherstone social media account took it upon themselves to reassert that rivalry with a tweet aimed at the differing fortunes of both sides at Wembley a fortnight ago.

Rovers, of course, lifted the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup whilst Castleford went down to St Helens in the Challenge Cup – and Featherstone won’t let the Tigers forget that.
