Featherstone add former Robins fullback

Featherstone Rovers have confirmed that Louis Sheriff has signed with the club for the 2021 season.

Sheriff began his career with Super League side Hull Kingston Rovers, where he made nine appearances and scored four tries between 2011 and 2012.

He then moved to Brisbane Rugby League side Redcliffe Dolphins in Australia, before returning to England with spells at Dewsbury Rams, Gateshead Thunder, Doncaster, Hemel Stags, Sheffield Eagles, and most recently, Keighley Cougars.

Sheriff now joins Rovers ahead of the 2021 Championship season and has impressed club officials in training.

Rovers Head Coach James Webster said: “Louis spoke to me sometime ago about wanting to test himself in a good professional environment. I liked his drive and determination regarding wanting a shot to prove himself.

Football Manager Steve Gill added: “I remember Louis being a real good player within the Hull KR youth set-up, since then he has played in Australia and some teams in the Championship and League 1.

“He has a lot of experience to offer in the outside backs and has shown a real hunger to be part of the culture we are continuing to develop at the club.”
