FC and Saints favourites for the big Good Friday derbies

Catalans Dragons 24-28 St Helens

2 great derbies on Good Friday for armchair supporters , the one true derby starts the day off just after lunchtime and bookies unsurprisingly have the black and whites clear favourites , this despite Rovers winning the last 2 clashes .

The Airlie birds are around 4/9 for the 2 points and they should get them if they have recovered from that crazy game in Perpignan last week .
FC are worthy favourites 4 points clear of their rivals and should really have won in week one at Craven Park . Confidence should be sky high after that late win and France and I expect them to cover the 6 point handicap and win this by around 11-15 points .
FC have won 3 of their last 4 , the defeat being against Warrington , whilst the win against Leeds 2 weeks ago was the Robins 1st in 4 .To consider an away win I’d want a lot closer to 3/1 than the current 9/4 is.

Sneyd is an obvious 6/1 favourite for man of the match , but I think that price is far too high (I’d be around 7/2) given how everything goes through him .
Plenty of candidates in black and white Houghton at 71 , Connor at 8/1 and Kelly at 10/1 but if you want a big value alternative Josh Griffin , who’s been in the tries lately , is too big at 25/1.
As for Rovers it has to be Danny McGuire at 10/1 just ahead of Drinkwater at the same odds .

After this it’s on to the DW for Wigan -Saints .
Wigan look in disarray , a couple of wins showed signs of improvement but 2 shocking losses against Cas and Wakefield have put the Warriors under pressure again .
Saints have only lost once this season and look bankers at around 2/5 . It’s hard to believe a fully fit Saints side are practically the same price as Hull today , given they sit 12 points ahead of a Warriors side with injuries all over the park .
Saints will surely cover the 8 point handicap but 10/11 on the Half Time Full Time is probably where the value is . You have to barter in Saints taking it easy if clear in the game with another game looming on Monday .

The best argument I can give for Wigan is that Saints haven’t won a Good Friday derby at the DW since 2009 , 9/4 is shocking value for me it should be a minimum 7/2 for the disappointing Champions .
Saints were stunning in tearing apart Warrington last week and must be licking their lips at facing this Wigan defence .

Wigan’s goal line D has been rank these last few weeks and Scarsbrook could be the man to crash over, 13/2 for him to score anytime is way too big .

It’s a who’s who for man of the match in the Red V , but surely it has to be one of the man of Steel front runners James Roby at 5/1 . He’s the best player in Super League and loves playing against Wigan .
As for the Warriors Hardaker and Williams are hard to split at 10/1 but captain fantastic Sean O’Loughlin looks the man at 25/1 . He’s been the St Helens nemesis a number of times in what is his favourite game .

Cas go to Perpignan on Easter Monday, as always please gamble responsibly
