Supporters of Kingstone Press Championship club Swinton Lions have set up a fundraising page in an effort to help ease financial worries.
With over 150 years of history, the Lions – and their fans – have turned towards the ever reliable rugby league family to help their club and their current situation.
In a recent fans forum, the club told the supporters about their troubling debts and are looking for around £50,000 by the end of this month and another £50,000 on top of that to finish the season.
The club are in talks with potential investors but the fans aren’t resting on their laurels and are doing their best to share the JustGiving link across all forms of social media.
This Crowdfunding effort launched by Elizabeth Preston sets the wanted total at £5,000 but anything else would be much appreciated as the Lions look for much needed funds.
Everybody at Serious About Rugby League wishes Swinton all the very best for the rest of the season and in their attempt to survive.
