Last night there wasn’t any rugby on but there was certainly something special to watch involving a rugby league legend in the shape of Leeds Rhinos legend Rob Burrow.
Burrow has been fighting Motor Neurone Disease since he was diagnosed in December 2019.
He sadly can no longer use his speech muscles but that didn’t stop him from reading a bedtime story on CBeebies last night using his eye gaze.
It has prompted a lot of love for the former Leeds number seven with one parent revealing their children had watched it 10 times.
My kids loved it. They’ve watched it at least 10 times. 👍

Others described it as “wonderful.”
Wonderful, well done @Rob7Burrow and @CBeebiesHQ ❤ https://t.co/D1E8NmmV1K

It was also stated that it was “valuable” to see for the young viewers.
Reading to and with your children is so valuable. Watching CBeebies together is a great alternative. @Rob7Burrow has lost his voice to #MND but that’s no deterrent to Rob. See for yourself https://t.co/hAfzU5bmG1

It had some people in tears.
Sobbed throughout – the bravery of some folk is monumental !
“Things always look better in the morning “ here’s to that making any young person ( or anyone !) see that ❤️❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🎅🏻— Suzy 💙 (@SuzyScan) December 4, 2022
The best tweet perhaps came from Burrow’s father Geoff, a “proud” moment for him.
