Fans outraged as players spotted out until the small hours following crucial defeat

When you are at the bottom of the table the pressure is always high.

But in recent weeks it seems the Wests Tigers have passed that pressure onto St George Illawarra Dragons.

The last two weeks have seen the Tigers discover some confidence which has turned into form defeating Champions Penrith Panthers before inflicting St George’s latest defeat.

That was at the Magic Weekend in Brisbane.

After the defeat, according to The Mole of Wide World of Sports, the Dragons squad went out for drinks as they stayed in Brisbane and were out to the small hours of the night and the Dragons fans, especially those who saw it, weren’t happy.

“It was pretty poor to see as a Dragons fan,” one supporter who witnessed the players said to the Mole.

“They had just lost to the last-place team and they were out until the wee small hours on the drink laughing and carrying on.

“They were not misbehaving as such, but you would think they would be concentrating on recovery and rehab and the big game ahead.”

On one hand, players are human and more often than not friends. Essentially away with all their mates, you can’t blame them for wanting to have a good time especially if it helps team bonding after their recent woes.

But you can understand why fans would be concerned by this especially with some recent scandals such as at the club’s presentation evening when only three of the squad showed up.
