Last night the Super League table continued to take shape as the real challengers this year begin to reveal themselves. Warrington backed up having beaten Champions St Helens last week, league leaders Catalans underlined their credentials with victory at Castleford whilst Wigan surprisingly suffered a third consecutive defeat. That was my view anyway. How did social media see it?
Let’s start at Warrington were Sky set about addressing the ongoing George Williams transfer saga. They identified Leeds and Warrington as the two likeliest destinations for the English stand-off although when they asked the player himself things didn’t go according to plan.
First thing Warrington need to do with the Inglis cap space is upgrade George Williams' WiFi…

Sky had Leeds fans on their toes about the possibility that Williams could be Headingley bound.
Hahahaha
7.15pm George Williams going the Rhinos according to sky7.34pm nope not going Rhinos cos he doesnt wana live in Yorkshire

Some even took to finding the odds for Williams to make the move to Leeds after what they heard on Sky Sports.

But let’s turn to the action at Warrington rather than this speculation. Once again, despite the continued Williams links, Gareth Widdop impressed but Warrington fans were left worried when he limped off.
Won 44-18 but Gareth Widdop limped off and so my night is ruined.

Wolves supporters could be proud of their team however as they defeated Leigh 44-18. The Wire named a number of youngsters in their side and still defeated the Centurions comfortably. Danny Walker was the star man and proved to be irrepressible out of dummy half.
The kids are alright 💛💙💛💙💛
Superb for teenagers to come up with performance. Danny Walker 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

It was a 12th defeat from 12 in the league for Leigh and some fans believe they won’t win a game this season whilst others believe a new coach is needed as soon as possible.
If Leigh wanna win in Superleague they’ve gotta appoint a big name head coach , haggerty is clueless

Elsewhere, Wigan lost a third game in a row after winning the first seven. Some turned to the style of rugby played by the five time Super League Champions claiming that Adrian Lam has taken them backwards.
You’ve got a point to be fair. For all Wane’s success, by the end the rugby was turgid and it’s probably fair to say Lam’s taken Wigan backwards.

Meanwhile, others suggested that the pain of last year’s Grand Final defeat is derailing the Warriors in 2021.

In last night’s other game, Catalans underlined their growing title credentials with victory at Castleford. It led some to tip the Dragons to make it to Old Trafford however they feared they may fall at the final hurdle.
I just have a terrible feeling Warrington are going to win the Grand Final this year. All the usual suspects seem to be struggling at present so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Warrington v Catalans at Old Trafford.

Catalans will have been very pleased with the result but naturally it was a different story for Castleford. According to some the Tigers were simply terrible.
God castleford are awful 🙄
