The draw for the sixth round of the Challenge Cup took place tonight.
The draw is as follows:
Catalans Dragons vs Warrington Wolves
Castleford Tigers vs Hull FC
York RLFC vs London Broncos
Halifax Panthers vs St Helens
Hull KR vs Batley Bulldogs
Wakefield Trinity vs Leigh Leopards
Leeds Rhinos vs Wigan Warriors
Salford Red Devils vs Huddersfield Giants
There is a guaranteed Championship club in the quarter-finals with York and London meeting.
Meanwhile the biggest game of the round is undoubtedly the meeting between Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors who have won 34 Challenge Cups between them.
Meanwhile, after a fiery clash over Easter, Catalans Dragons and Warrington Wolves meet again with a place in the quarter-finals up for grabs.
Championship clubs Batley and Halifax play Hull KR and St Helens respectively so it not easy ties for them against some of the top teams in Super League at present.
Salford Red Devils meet Huddersfield Giants, Castleford Tigers take on Hull FC and Wakefield Trinity host Leigh Leopards in the other all-Super League games.
How did social media react?
Well Hull FC fans are fairly confident.
That’s not actually bad, I’ll be honest

Some are happy to go to their “favourite” ground in Super League.
Wanted cats away but I'll settle for my favourite ground in the league

Halifax fans meanwhile branded their meeting with the Champions St Helens as “easy.”
Another easy draw for us I see 😂😂

There was a lot of banter from the Panthers fans:
Just a bus stop in Wigan.
— Adam Patchett (@Patchadamas) April 24, 2023
And one said the trophy should just be given to them straight away:
Up the fax. Give us the trophy now 🏆🏆⚪️🔵 https://t.co/9O1MnsUcdc
— BigPappaJon (@bigjonhellings) April 24, 2023
Leigh fans likewise are very confident of beating the as yet winless Wakefield Trinity.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thats us into the next round then. https://t.co/TP4KAwnWZJ

Salford fans are looking ahead to a clash against Huddersfield and of course the last coach to take them to Wembley:
Winnable tie. Let’s get a big crowd there for it now
— Piko (@piko_6) April 24, 2023
I'm sure we will all give our ex coach a real warm 'SALFORD' welcome home……

Overall plenty of fans were calling for big changes to the competition to produce more interesting ties against Championship clubs.
5 times in 9 years we've faced FC.
Get SL clubs in at the Rd 32 stage asap!! pic.twitter.com/3lgNT7s08P

It is something IMG are looking at as part of their credentials:
This makes me sad. We've formatted the competition in such a way that a maximum of 4 teams a year get a chance to play against @SuperLeague opposition. No magic of the cup here
— RL Opinionist (@RLOpinionist) April 24, 2023
Turning back to the ties, unsurprisingly Wakefield fans aren’t confident.
I’m sure Leigh will be happy with their bye
— Paul Hartley (@northernharto) April 24, 2023
Interestingly, Warrington fans aren’t keen on the clash against Catalans.
Worst possible draw for us…
— TG (@ThomasGibbs_) April 24, 2023
Likewise most Leeds fans aren’t excited about hosting holders Wigan Warriors.
Ah well, some free weekends later in the year
— Enough Of That Now (@AndyGilder) April 24, 2023
Didn’t want a cup run anyway 😂😂
— Stephen Taylor (@Smtlufc) April 24, 2023
However, one fan warned Wigan fans about recent meeting between the two:
Do underestimate us we are good at home rarely loose we beat u like 40-6 or something last season
— leeds rhinos (@leeds_fan1) April 24, 2023
Elsewhere Castleford fans are plotting their route to the final:
Decent draw beat them and then hope for the winner of London vs York
