Fages to captain France at World Cup

St Helens half-back Theo Fages will lead France at the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.

The 23-year-old playmaker will skipper the 24-man squad for les Chanticleers who are in the same group as England, Australia and Lebanon.

Catalans Dragons have an eight-man contingent in the squad that also includes five players from English-based Super League clubs.

Toulouse also boast five players but coach Aurelien Cologni will be without injured duo Remy Casty and Vincent Duport for the tournament.
