Exclusive: Toulouse Olympique forward Justin Sangare reveals the rejection of multiple rival Super League bids

Toulouse Olympique will play in Super League in 2022 for the first time ever in their history.

An emphatic display over Featherstone Rovers in the Million Pound Game in October secured promotion to the top flight as a number of stars caught the eye in a record-breaking year for the French side.

Among them was prop forward Justin Sangare, who made the headlines during the 2021 Championship season for a string of impressive performances as the French side made their way into Super League.

And, 23-year-old Sangare has already been attracting the attention of a number of suitors.

He spoke exclusively to Serious About Rugby League about that attention, though he was coy in admitting which Super League clubs were actually interested in obtaining his signature.

“Yes several clubs were interested,” Sangare told Serious About Rugby League.

“But I don’t want to talk about offers or club names. Thank you for your interest in me.”

The 23-year-old has been at Toulouse since progressing through the academy and now he cannot wait to play in the top flight with them.

“I am very excited to face this new challenge with the TO XIII, it should be a great year.”

For Toulouse, the 2022 Super League season has been a long time coming, having built over the past few years and narrowly missing out on promotion.

Head coach Sylvain Houles has been at the helm since 2012 and will now lead the French side to their first ever season in the top tier.
