Exclusive: Salford Red Devils’ Harvey Livett reveals previous Super League offer and discusses future

Harvey Livett was signed by the Salford Red Devils ahead of the 2021 Super League season, but it may never have been that way had another top-flight club had their way.

The 24-year-old Warrington Wolves academy product had played less than 50 games for his boyhood club between 2017 and 2020, with three loans at the Rochdale Hornets and two at Hull KR yielding 21 appearances.

However, the Robins wanted to keep him, according to the man himself.

“Obviously I was at KR, so they were keen for me to sign,” Livett told Serious About Rugby League.

“But I wanted to be closer to home so I made the choice to go to Salford.”

Livett signed a two-year deal at the AJ Bell Stadium, which means his contract will end at the end of the 2022 season.

However, the utility forward isn’t taking that into consideration just yet and wants to focus on his rugby first and foremost.

“I haven’t given that any thought at all to be honest.

“I just want to get another good couple of games in and hit a bit of form and have a really good year with Salford.”

Paul Rowley has taken over as Salford boss from Richard Marshall, who couldn’t guide the Red Devils past 11th place.
