The RFL say they have advised clubs on the change in guidelines from the government in regards to contact training.
They have also said further discussions will be taking place with clubs further this week surrounding the new guidelines.
In guidelines published by the government today, they have given the go-ahead for elite athletes to return to contact training. When that will be is left to the sporting bodies.
Rugby League has been suspended in this country since March, and no return date has currently been set.
An RFL spokesperson said: “Having received Stage 2 of UK Sport’s Return to Train Guidance, the RFL has shared the new information with Super League, Championship and League 1 clubs, and there will be further discussions this week.
“The RFL will also continue to liaise with our Chief Medical Officer and other medical experts, and with other sports – and all decisions will be medically and risk led.”
