Exclusive: Nathan Peats on Super League move

Former Leigh Centurions and Huddersfield Giants hooker has recently began a new career in France with Elite One side Albi.

Peats signed for the Leigh Centurions in 2021 in a bid to help the Lancashire club avoid relegation, but exited midway through the year to join Huddersfield Giants.

The hooker became an integral part of Ian Watson’s side and helped turn around the West Yorkshire club’s fortunes towards the back end of the season.

A permanent deal wasn’t forthcoming, however, and Peats was left to try and manoeuvre a move elsewhere.

That Super League move never came about and so the 30-year-old made the move to the south of France.

Now, though, he has spoken to Serious About Rugby League about whether a transfer back over to the UK could occur in the future.

“I don’t think so, I haven’t even spoken to my manager in over a month,” Peats revealed.

“I’m just having a good time and getting ready for family time over Christmas.”

The Australian hooker is determined to make as much of the France move as possible.

“I’ve played two games here now and they’ve been good, I’m just happy to be playing.

“We’ve got a three week break over Christmas now so it’s just about enjoying ourselves.

“Me and my family are enjoying the lifestyle and that’s mainly what we came over here for.”
