Exclusive: Leon Pryce reveals who he thinks will win the Super League Grand Final

St Helens swept everyone aside in the 2021 season.

From Challenge Cup winners, beating Castleford Tigers in the final at Wembley, to the Super League Grand Final in overcoming the Catalans Dragons in nailbiting fashion, Saints just could not be stopped.

They are the bookmakers’ favourites to repeat their success in 2022 and they have been backed for glory by former halfback and stalwart Leon Pryce.

As a player, Pryce won it all; from the Challenge Cup to the Grand Final, the former Bradford, St Helens, Hull FC and Catalans Dragons star scooped up both individual and team accolades galore.

The 40-year-old won a grand total of six Challenge Cups, six League Leaders’ Shields, three World Club Challenges and four Super League titles in a 19-year spell in the game.

And, he believes that his former side still has what it takes.

“St Helens have still got to be the team to beat,” Pryce told Serious About Rugby League.

“They were the best side in the competition last year and they have recruited well.

“I still think that Saints will be the team for everyone to catch up to.”

Though the club has lost the likes of Lachlan Coote and Theo Fages, Will Hopoate, Curtis Sironen, James Bell, Joey Lussick and Konrad Hurrell have all made the move to the Totally Wicked Stadium for 2022.
