Exclusive: Castleford Tigers star Kenny Edwards gives honest admission about his future

Kenny Edwards has proved to be a shrewd signing by Castleford Tigers boss Lee Radford.

With the skilful back-rower enjoying himself on the left edge for the West Yorkshire side, much has been said of Edwards’ performance lately.

And, the former Huddersfield Giants and Catalans Dragons star is enjoying himself.

“I’m really enjoying it, obviously the results haven’t gone our way the first few couple of months,” Edwards told Serious About Rugby League.

“But hopefully we are stating to get into our groove now and I’m really enjoying it – I’ m really enjoying coming into training.”

Edwards has revealed that the coaching staff have called on the players to play off the cuff.

“That’s something the whole coaching staff has pushed towards me and the whole team – to play what’s in front of us.

“Radders’ (Radford) big thing for us is to take lines on and if we see something on then call it.

“I’ve got the confidence of him and Andy Last.”

Being on a one-year loan from Huddersfield, Edwards is ‘nervous’ about his future.

“I’ve not really thought about that, obviously contract time is coming up and I’m getting a bit nervous now in terms of next year and what will happen after that.

“I can only worry about turning up every week and hopefully that stuff will take care of itself.

“I would like to stay at Castleford – they were my first choice in Super League.”
